Patient letters in screening mammography reports

An expansion of patient-facing result letters integrated directly into screening mammogram radiology reports was announced by the Alberta Breast Cancer Screening Program in collaboration with the Alberta Society of Radiologists.

Initially, as part of a pilot project in Edmonton, patients visiting select radiology clinic locations received a summary of their screening mammogram results, provided alongside the full clinical report in their MyHealth Alberta Account (MyChart).

This initiative is now expanding to more radiology clinics across the province.

Physicians will also see the summary when they review results.
