Senior Services: Physician wanted

Our PCN is seeking a physician with care of the elderly experience and interest to deliver consultative physician services within our Senior Services program.

The physician will provide support to the Senior Services team for eight hours per week.

Working with an interdisciplinary team, the physician provides a comprehensive assessment for patients who are elderly or physiologically aged.

Common reasons for referral include, but are not limited to:

• Atypical dementia where the diagnosis is unclear
• Challenging BPSD, again, with more atypical presentations (strange hallucinations/delusions, profound apathy)
• Complex medical comorbidity

Physicians contracted to Senior Services will:

• Hold a valid practice permit from the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta in good standing with no restrictions
• Have medical liability coverage/insurance
• Have experience and interest in care of the elderly
