The seven Primary Care Corridors for Alberta were established on Sept. 1 by regulation under the Provincial Health Authorities Act, the Ministry of Primary and Preventative Health Services (PPHS) confirmed in a town hall on Sept. 21.
For PCNs, the town hall shared updates and timelines:
- PPHS is developing an updated business planning template to share with PCNs this fall to support the shift from grant agreements to service agreements.
- The service agreements, which will include funding details, between PCNs and Primary Care Corridors are expected to be in place on April 1, 2027.
PPHS is working on the funding model and, for the corridors, will begin recruiting Managing Directors this fall.
