Community partner spotlight: Autism Calgary

Autism Calgary is an association of individuals and families living with autism who strive to assist each other and the broader community so that those with autism live meaningful lives.

The association offers support to individuals with autism and their families:

  • Family support team offers peer support, information, resources, help finding service providers, help with navigating funding, and more for families and individuals.
  • Drop-in days to meet with their family support team Monday – Thursday (10 a.m. – 2 p.m.)
  • Autism-specific library members can access Monday – Thursday (9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) to borrow books, DVDs, and resources.
  • Talk support program to meet with their adult support and resource specialist in person or by phone.
  • Peer support groups for adults on the spectrum, their fathers, mothers, and parents and caregivers, and a biomedical group.

Eligibility: People on the autism spectrum and their families.

Access does not require a referral:

  • A free membership is required for the autism-specific library.
  • Apart from the library and drop-in hours, the required scheduling or registration information is available on each program’s web page.
