Community partner spotlight: Prostate Cancer Centre

Sep 2, 2025

As a charitable medical organization, the Prostate Cancer Centre serves as a central hub for prostate cancer services, offering patients, families, and caregivers a full continuum of care.

Their programs are designed to make detection and care as seamless as possible:

  • The mobile Man Van provides free, quick, and confidential prostate-specific antigen (PSA) blood testing in communities across Alberta and mental health screenings.
  • The Prehabilitation Program is designed to help patients physically and mentally prepare for the challenges of prostate cancer treatment with support such as pelvic floor yoga, group exercise classes, and counselling services.
  • Patient services, including rapid access clinics and support classes, provide rapid access to care, education, research, and support.

No referral is needed for PSA testing at the Man Van at locations across the province. Men aged 40 – 70 are eligible for PSA testing, while men aged 18-plus are eligible for the mental health screening.

For the rapid access clinics and classes, please call the centre’s nurse navigator at 403.943.8972.
