Kickstand is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing youth mental health and well-being in Alberta.
Through its free, confidential virtual clinic, Kickstand Connect (mykickstand.ca/connect/), the organization provides young people across the province:
- Mental health counselling, substance use counselling, peer support, employment services, and groups and workshops
- Trained professionals and a safe space for group sessions, exclusively for young Albertans aged 11 – 25 and their parents or caregivers
- A single-session model with same-day and pre-booked appointments (up to a few days in advance)
Kickstand is exploring expansion into Calgary with a physical location to provide additional services, but the virtual clinic is available to all eligible Albertans.
Eligibility: Services are available to young people aged 11 – 25 who reside in Alberta. No formal diagnosis or referral is required to access support.
Access:
- Kickstand does not require a formal referral but will welcome referrals from families and healthcare providers.
- Young Albertans can book an online session directly through mykickstand.ca/connect/ with only their name, email address, date of birth, postal code, and gender identity.
- For more assistance with booking, they can watch a 90-second video tutorial.
