Diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) is a priority at the CWC PCN. Our Board of Directors recently approved a new DEIB Position Statement that puts this commitment into words and provides a shared foundation for how we approach this work across our organization and the communities we serve.
The position statement outlines our shared commitment to advancing DEIB across our organization:
“The CWC PCN strives to lead by example to ensure our organization is inclusive and respectful to people of all races, ethnicities, abilities, gender identities, and sexual orientations. We are committed to:
- Providing equitable access to high-quality health care for all patients,
- Fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace for our employees, and
- Empowering physician members and healthcare providers to integrate inclusive perspectives into their practice
We will work to identify and address system barriers that perpetuate inequities. We will continue to learn and unlearn, cultivating and sustaining relationships with community partners that broaden our reach and deepen our understanding of the diverse communities we serve.”
Dr. Ashley Humeniuk, Vice-Chair of the CWC PCN Board of Directors, was involved in helping guide the position statement through its development and approval: “Developing this position statement gave us a chance to reflect on the kind of organization we want to be and our responsibility to the diverse communities we serve. This process helped me see that DEIB is more than just words or values on paper — it’s about listening, learning, and continuing to take meaningful action. We are proud of the work that went into this and look forward to seeing how we continue to build on it together.”
The DEIB Position Statement will help guide our ongoing DEIB work as we continue to support our members, teams, patients, and communities.
