Heart & Stroke has launched Risk Screen, a tool to help people understand their heart and brain health risks and support them to take action to reduce or manage their risks, including by having meaningful conversations with healthcare providers.
Risk Screen is grounded in the latest evidence and informed by leading experts in heart and brain health. It takes into account individual factors, including lifestyle behaviours, medical history, sex, age, and life stages specific to women, such as pregnancy and menopause.
The tool is free, easy, and quick to complete. By answering a short series of questions, people receive:
- Their personal risk profile
- An action plan with steps they can take to reduce or manage risks
- A detailed report they can save or discuss with you
- Follow-up emails with tips, information, and resources to support behaviour change
According to a Heart & Stroke poll, while only half of Canadians know their risk, more than nine in 10 say it is important to know what puts them at risk and to take action.
Recognizing this gap in awareness, Risk Screen is making a difference — over 65,000 Canadians have already completed the tool to learn more about their heart and brain health risks.
